"Economist Rahman Şeker was born on August 10, 1988, in Antalya, Turkey. A native of Kemer, Şeker attended Kiriş Şeker Primary School until the fourth grade. Later, guided by his teachers, he transferred to Akdeniz College in Antalya, where he completed his primary and secondary education with top honors. Subsequently, he gained admission to Özel Antalya Science High School, where he completed his high school education."
In 2005, Şeker went to Istanbul for his undergraduate studies. He secured a full scholarship and enrolled in the English Business-Economics program at Istanbul Bilgi University, completing it as the top student in the department.
Şeker's father, who couldn't pursue education due to difficulties, had a big dream of his son achieving a higher level of education. With the intention of fulfilling both his own and his father's dreams, Şeker initially went to California in 2010 for a 6-month language education program. After returning to his home country, he went back to California in 2012, this time to pursue a 'Post Graduate Business and Management Diploma' program that he had been admitted to. He completed the program at the University of California, Riverside and worked in the finance department of Sierra Aluminum Company for a period.
While juggling work and preparations for his master's exams, Şeker achieved a significant milestone in 2014 when he was accepted into the Boston Babson College for a 'Master of Business Administration' (MBA) program with a world-first ranking in Entrepreneurship.
Rahman Şeker, who aspired to establish a business in animal husbandry and agriculture in Turkey, provided consultancy to a livestock-related business during his master's studies. In June 2015, after successfully completing his master's degree, he returned to his home country with the aim of contributing to Turkey. He established a 120-head dairy farm in Karamanlı, Burdur, in line with European standards as part of the Agricultural and Rural Development Support Project supported by the government, aiming to raise awareness in entrepreneurship.
In addition to his endeavors in the agriculture sector, Rahman Şeker is actively involved in the tourism industry. He serves as a board member in the management of the family-owned EK-ŞE Group and Sailors Beach Club. Furthermore, he is the owner of Şekerzade, a company operating in the livestock sector.
In 2018, Rahman Şeker entered active politics. In 2019, he ran as a candidate nominee for the local elections in Kemer as a member of the Ak Parti. He is currently actively involved in politics and preparing for the 2024 local elections. Rahman Şeker is a dedicated member of the Ak Parti and advocates for a political approach based on merit, honesty, sincerity, and innovation. He has presented visionary projects and ideas befitting a tourist destination like Kemer, earning the respect of people from all walks of life. Rahman Şeker is married and has three children.
